  1. Lent Cycle B: The Road to Redemption (March 2018)

Join us this Lent as we take 6 weeks to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ! Are we ready for the King? Are our hearts ready to accept the passion of our Lord so that we may share in his glorious Resurrection? The six weeks leading up to Easter mark our own 40 days in the desert with Jesus. Lent is an intense time of prayer, fasting and almsgiving for the entire Church.

This year the Sunday gospel readings at Mass come from the Gospels of Matthew and John. Our engagement with these gospels creates a beautiful tapestry of prepared anticipation for the Easter season into our hearts.

This study follows the Catholic Scripture Study format, but concentrates on the Sunday lectionary readings and incorporates the ancient method of Lectio Divina (praying the scriptures). Lectio Divina is a powerful way to ‘hear’ God speaking to us personally through scripture.

To prepare, each participant reads the Sunday readings along with the "Points to Ponder" commentary, answers the Study Questions & Questions for Reflection and "prays the scriptures."

Added elements: Catechism ConnectionsRome to Home and Voices of the Saints.

Individual Study Guide (answers included separately)
    Author: Leon Suprenant
    Presenter: Fr. Mitch Pacwa

    Starting at: $16.95

  2. The Book of Joshua (13 Lessons)

Commentary by Steve Ray - presented by Fr. Scott Courtney

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the constant challenges of daily life? Do you struggle to “let go and let God?”

We all need role models to encourage us through the mess that daily life can become. Joshua was no stranger to this challenge—especially when charged with picking up where Moses left off, and leading the Israelites with prudence and patience.

In the Book of Joshua, through a detailed exegesis of 650+ verses, Steve Ray and Fr. Scott Courtney are committed to showing you how completely Joshua trusted in God. Even while faced with severe setbacks, not once did this prophet doubt that God knew exactly what he was doing.

In 13 bracing lessons, you will learn:

-How the crossing of the Red Sea prefigures an essential sacrament

-What “typology” means, and how it synthesizes the Old and New Testaments

-That we were slaves, just like the Israelites, until a new Joshua came to sever our chains

Trust and perseverance are the two virtues you will see most powerfully demonstrated in Joshua. Let his example of constant hope encourage you to leave more of your worries in God’s capable hands.

    Starting at: $22.95

  4. Hebrews (16 Lessons)

Commentary by Scott Hahn and Mark Shea - presented by Fr. Mitch Pacwa

Hebrews is a masterfully-written work with a fascinating point: the New Covenant of Jesus Christ perfectly fulfills the Old. Even more impressive, however, is the fact that only the New Covenant can free us from sin. The news was so shocking—and so radical—that it literally shook the world, beginning with an earthquake at Calvary, and thundering down to us thousands of years later.

Scott Hahn, Mark Shea, and Fr. Mitch Pacwa take you through the clear, prudent chapters that make up this theologically piercing letter.

In 16 powerful lessons, you will learn:

-Why the New Covenant fulfills, without destroying, the Old

-How Jesus relates to and surpasses the angels

-What it means to be a priest “in the line of Melchizedek”

How often do we think of the crushing sacrifices made by the first Christians to preserve and guard our faith? Hebrews is a glowing testament to their valiant witness. Let these chapters inspire you to be a little bolder in your own witness every day.

    Starting at: $29.95

  5. Understanding the Mystery of the Mass, Revisited (6 Lessons)

It is designed for individuals or groups desiring to better understand and enter into the mystery of Holy Mass. This is the perfect tool for those interested in better understanding and participating in the new translation of the Mass.

    Starting at: $16.95

  6. Angels Throughout the Ages (15 Lessons)

We hear Scripture readings that tell stories of angelic interventions in history. There's a flip side, of course, to the angels. There are also the demons.
In these lessons, we're going to meet some of the angels and demons featured in the Bible as distinct spiritual persons, with names and identities. We'll treat them like real people we would actually meet in our lives, because that's how they're portrayed in the Bible.

Who are they? What do they do? And what do their names teach us about who they are?

Angels Throughout the Ages is a fascinating study on many types of angels, including the fallen angels (demons), and the three Archangels. Some of these sessions cover demons and their evil effects in the world. Entertaining Angels is the best choice to study the good Angels. All teaching is biblically based from the Catholic perspective.

    Starting at: $29.95

  7. The Book of Judges (10 Lessons)

Commentary by Steve Ray - presented by Fr. Mitch Pacwa

If the theme of Joshua is national faithfulness to God, the theme of Judges is the exact opposite. Two verses drive home the point: 1) “The people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord” (Judges 2:11), and 2) “Every man did what was right in his own eyes” (17:6).

As peace turns to despair and faith into selfishness for the Israelites, we should recall the many times we have turned our own eyes away from God to fulfill selfish desires. In a powerful study of 600+ verses, Steve Ray and Fr. Mitch Pacwa carefully lead you through this distressing book with insight and clarity, urging you to remember that God is always faithful to his promises—and always ready to take us back with open arms.

In 10 well-researched lessons, you will learn:

-How the trials God sends us are always trials of love

-Why the Israelites’ depressing cycle of sin and suffering is familiar and relevant for us

-How the Book of Judges is a masterful blend of history and poetry

Over and over again, the Book of Judges proves that selfishness and faithlessness are simply not worth it. No matter how many times we fall, though, God never changes. Let the tragic example of the Israelites at the time of the Judges remind you: no matter how imperfect we are, God’s grace is a promise that will never be broken.

    Starting at: $21.95

  8. Exodus (28 Lessons)

Commentary by Scott Hahn and Mark Shea - presented by Fr. Patrick Winslow

Exodus is a gripping 1,200+ verse narrative, and one of the most famous ever told. Many of us have heard it since we were little children, but how often have we taken the time to study its chapters as our guiding light, the Church, understands them? Scott Hahn, Mark Shea, and Fr. Patrick Winslow are here to help you do just that. You will quickly discover a powerful tale of redemption and revelation that unquestionably earns its reputation.

In 28 revealing lessons, you will learn:

-What sacrament the Crossing of the Red Sea prefigures

-Why we shouldn’t be afraid to study the Old Testament

-How God responds to us when we try to run ahead of him

In the Christian life, everyone is a pilgrim. What God told Moses thousands of years ago still applies to us today: God will fit us for our tasks. He will never ask us to do anything beyond our strength. Learn how the Israelites mirror our own struggles to accept this, and draw courage from God’s infinite faithfulness to all his children.

    Starting at: $46.95

  9. El Evangelio de Juan (28 Lecciones)

Juan es conocido como "el apóstol amado de Jesús" (Juan 20,2), y con Pedro y Santiago hacía parte del círculo “círculo más estrecho” de los amigos de Jesús. Juan demostró su valentía al ser el único apóstol que estuvo al pie de la cruz, cuando nuestro Señor fue crucificado.

    Starting at: $46.95

  10. Hebrews and James (28 Lessons)

James was devoted to the ultimate example of redemptive suffering, and encouraged his listeners to practice what they preached. This letter is a practical, no-nonsense guide to living out the Christian life on a daily basis.

In 28 insightful lessons, you will learn:

-Why the New Covenant fulfills, without destroying, the Old

-The difference between trials and temptations, and how God uses them to save us

-What a faithful Christian does in the face of disappointment and anger

Let Hebrews and James both encourage you in the battle that our Lord fights with us. Scott Hahn, Mark Shea, Fr. Scott Courtney, and Fr. Mitch Pacwa will help you to see how we can fight with hope, even in our darkest days.
